Roseview sash windows for homes in Bristol

At Associated Windows, we install the Roseview Collection for homeowners across Bristol who love the look of traditional sash windows. Here are a few reasons why they remain one of the most popular window styles in the city.

Traditional appearance

Sliding sash windows are woven into Britain’s architectural history, bringing elegance and symmetry that suit everything from Georgian terraces to charming Victorian townhouses.

Excellent ventilation

The openable sliding panels create an unobstructed space for fresh air to enter your home. Better airflow improves indoor air quality and help reduce condensation.

Replicate the appearance of timber

Authentic woodgrain foils recreate the texture and tone of real timber, capturing the character of traditional sash windows without the upkeep.

Thermal performance

Modern uPVC frames and energy-efficient glazing help retain warmth indoors. Better insulation often means lower heating bills and a more comfortable home.

    What is the Roseview collection?

Sliding sash windows have been part of British architecture for centuries. First popularised during the Georgian period, they quickly became a hallmark of elegant townhouses and grand terraces. Their symmetrical design and graceful proportions still define many historic streets in Bristol today.

The Roseview Collection captures this heritage aesthetic while using modern materials and technology. Instead of heavy sash weights and cords, these windows use a smooth torsion balance system. This allows the sashes to glide open effortlessly while remaining secure in position.

Each window slides vertically, giving you flexible ventilation without protruding outward. Tilt-in sashes also make cleaning simple, even on upper floors. Alongside their classic styling, the Roseview Collection offers strong security, excellent insulation and impressive durability, making them ideal for both period homes and modern properties.

    Introducing the Ultimate Rose

The Ultimate Rose is the most authentic uPVC sash window in the Rose Collection. The meeting rail is ultra-slim at just 35mm, and it has been a trail blazer for the industry, becoming one of the first uPVC window styles to become accepted in conversation areas and listed buildings because of just how similar it looks to timber.

Enjoy authentic astragal bars, U-Values of 1.5 (upgradeable to 1.2), a seamless run-through horn, and optional chamber covers/deep cills. The Ultimate Rose is available in a beautiful range of colours, including white woodgrain, crystal white woodgrain, agate woodgrain and several other RAL options. The corner detailing is true mechanical, unlike the rest of the range which is welded.

    The versatile Heritage Rose

An option that lies in the middle of the Rose Collection, the Heritage Rose features a slim 44mm meeting rail, with U-Values of 1.5 and welded corner details.

Heritage astragal bars feature on this model. These narrow bars cross the window in a grid pattern to create the illusion of multiple panes and are designed to look as traditional as possible. Like the Ultimate Rose, the Heritage Rose is available in every RAL colour.

    The Charisma Rose

An affordable solution, the Charisma Rose is suitable for both new and older properties and is ideal for replacing failing timber windows. Like its counterparts, it is A-rated for energy efficiency and features Geo astragal bars.

Although it doesn’t include optional extras such as a seahorse sash horn or deep cill, the Charisma Rose retains strong U-Values of 1.5, a 60mm meeting rail, and reliable operation for years to come.

    The magic of uPVC

uPVC, short for unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, is the most widely used window material in the UK. It is often the most affordable option available, though this is not because of lower quality. Instead, the material can be produced efficiently at scale.

Walk down almost any street in Bristol, and you will see uPVC windows and doors. Today’s systems are far removed from the basic white frames of the past. Modern uPVC can be finished in a wide range of colours and woodgrain textures.

    Key benefits include:

    • Outstanding insulation
uPVC frames help keep heat inside your home during winter and reduce heat loss through the window frame.
    • Low maintenance
Unlike timber, uPVC does not need painting or sealing. An occasional clean with soapy water keeps it looking fresh.
    • Strong and durable
Welded joints and reinforced frames provide structural strength, helping windows last for many years.
    • Wide range of finishes
From classic white to Chartwell green and realistic woodgrain effects, there are options to suit modern and traditional homes alike.
    • Excellent value
Because it can be manufactured efficiently, uPVC offers reliable performance at a cost that works for many households.

    Understanding thermal performance

Thermal performance describes how effectively a window prevents heat from escaping your home. The better the insulation, the easier it is to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature. This is referred to as strong heat transfer, which is also beneficial in preventing unwanted heat from entering in the summer.

uPVC frames paired with modern double glazing, with the option to upgrade to triple available with this collection, are particularly effective at reducing heat loss.

Strong thermal performance can lead to:

    • Lower heating bills during colder months
    • Reduced carbon emissions from your home
    • A warmer, more comfortable living space
    • Less condensation around windows

The Roseview Collection is A-rated as standard, with upgraded glazing options achieving even lower U-values for improved efficiency.
